Dhanvantari as the god of Ayurveda.

Intention is to have sound physical & mental health with the blessings of Lord Dhanwanthari who is a celestial healer as well as manifestation of Lord Vishnu. Worshipping Lord Dhanwanthari with a pot containing the rejuvenating nectar called Amruth in Dhanwanthari pooja. It is common practice for worshipers to pray to Dhanvantari seeking his blessings for sound health for themselves and or others, especially on Dhanteras or Dhanwantari Trayodashi.

Dhanwanthi pooja/homams is performed every year on the birthday celebration of Lord Dhanwanthri – two days before Deepawali. Apart fro this tantra sadhakas also conduct dhanwanthari pooja on auspicious days of Ashtami, Ekadesi, Trayodesi etc.. Dhanwanthari pooja is performing in the most appropriate time auguring favourable circumstances and good luck to obtain good health. This pooja is performed to invoke the blessings of lord Dhanwanthari to cure all diseases and other health ailments. By this pooja divine intervention of the divine pysiscian is bestowed and the positive energy is absorbed by the ailing person.
